• Teaching Artist for ECHO/SADA’s “Baghdad Workshop” program (November 2011)
Teaching artist utilizing the concept of “distance teaching” to a group of young Iraqi artists located in Baghdad for a 1 month workshop in contemporary art with a focus on art for social change.
Echo (Sada) is a non-profit organization established to fulfill artists' critical need for support in the creation, presentation, and preservation of contemporary art within Iraq and in the Diaspora.
• Artist-in-Residence / Workshop Facilitator in relation to the Urban Cultures Project and Hip Hop Projections 6, 2011 (Sydney, Australia)
The ICE Urban Cultures Project engages young people from culturally diverse and disadvantaged backgrounds in Western Sydney through creative engagement workshops, production, performance and presentation of their creative work. I designed and headed the visual arts open-media workshop throughout April-May, 2011, and also participated in a panel.
• Islamophobia: Implications for Global Health Panel and Presentation alongside Yassin alSalman (The Narcicyst) and others at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada.
• Participated in the Al-Mahatta International Artists Workshop 2010 (West Bank, Palestine)
A 15-day artist residency alongside 20 artists from around the world in the West Bank town of Birzeit.. The work that was produced was shown as part of a public open day in the Old Town of Birzeit. Part of the Triangle Arts Trust Network.
